One of the first organisations to use WASP - the latest in
online health surveillance
Capita, the UK's leading workplace health and wellbeing
provider, today announces that it has won a three-year contract
with Technip, a world leader in subsea engineering, technologies
and project management for the oil and gas industry. Capita will
provide a range of occupational health services for 3,000 personnel
based in Technip's office in Aberdeen, Scotland and in the
company's offshore worksites.
As an early adopter of the Wellness Assessment Surveillance
Portal (WASP)1, Technip will have the ability to
undertake health surveillance via an intuitive set of
questionnaires. WASP provides centralised visibility of health
surveillance records, through a Capita web portal, to individuals
and line managers of the employing Companies. This allows 24-hour
online access to records, which can be vital when working
offshore.
"The importance of health and safety is paramount for our
employees and those working on the Company's behalf offshore,
especially considering the environments in which they operate,"
commented John Walker, occupational health manager at Technip in
Aberdeen. "Capita's WASP solution will help with the management of
the general health of the workforce in an efficient and
all-encompassing way. We're delighted to have appointed Capita to
provide occupational health services to our employees and are
confident that they offer the best solution available."
Helen Stuart, operations director for Capita's workplace health
and wellbeing division, commented: "Capita continues to look for
new ways to deliver enhanced, cost efficient occupational health
services to the oil and gas industry. Technip will see immediate
results from our tailored solution and continue to benefit from the
innovations that Capita is developing in the occupational health
arena."

Wellness Assessment Surveillance Portal (WASP) was launched by
Capita's wellbeing and health services in April 2010.
