Capita opened its first fully managed clinic in Candover Street, Fitzrovia, London, in August 2009 (now one of 30 managed clinics).

We installed touch screen technology (WARP), which is fully integrated with the expert's examination and medical report process.

We operate from a network of clinics across approximately 500 locations throughout the UK, including client sites.

We work with our clients to make sure that medical referrals are conducted effectively, taking account of practical circumstances; we do this through:

• Tele-consultations
• Face-to-face appointments at Capita clinics
• Face-to-face appointments at client premises
• Face-to-face appointments at the employee's home, if appropriate.

In considering the most effective option, we will take into account the complexity of the referral in terms of employee health and the practicality of travel.

Our unique clinic model gives us greater control of the management of our day-to-day requirements:

• On-line scheduling and centralised triage
• Optimisation of resource deployment and independence from onsite occupational health staff
• Flexible and responsive appointments booking
• Utilisation of existing staff on site.
